JOB TITLE: Occupational Therapist
DEPARTMENT: Home Health Program
WORK TYPE: Full Time
Provides occupational therapy treatment for home health and hospice patients of all ages with a wide variety of diagnosis to help them achieve a maximum level of functional independence. Documents patient care and results of treatment appropriately in the medical record to comply with policies and procedures of the department and regulatory agencies.
Reports directly to the therapy manager.
Demonstrated ability to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain accurate and legible progress notes.
Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) accredited school of Occupational Therapy with a Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
Licensed as an occupational therapist in Pennsylvania.
Minimum of 2 years? experience preferred. New graduates will be considered.
Required to perform medium daily work with sporadic heavy lifting, as this is a direct patient care position. Must be able to climb (especially stairs and ramps) and guard/assist patients while climbing stairs/ramps. Other physical abilities that are imperative include: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, and must have good depth perception to adequately perform duties.
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in patient's homes, occasionally in the community. Must be able to work with electrical equipment such as kitchen appliances and splinting/casting equipment, modality equipment. May be exposed to environmental hazards, infectious diseases and chemical agents (see MSDS); sharp objects; fluctuating noise levels; disagreeable odors; frequent interruptions and agitated or emotionally distraught patients and families.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
