J OB SUMMARY : Serves in an advanced practitioner role as defined by state guidelines, providing comprehensive assessment and care delivery, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skills in the diagnosis and management of patients. Serves in a collaborative practice with the department physician and staff in assessing needs, planning and providing education and care, evaluating outcomes, and coordinating follow-up and referrals for patients. Functions as a patient advocate in the medical care system as confidant, advisor and liaison between patients, families and physicians. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in both the Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine settings.
Reports clinically to the Department Director. Reports administratively to the Operations Manager.
Must be a graduate of an ARC approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the NCCPA and eligible or licensed the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine.
Certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners and completion of Master?s degree required. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
Current certification in BLS and an updated CPR card required. Degree of professional training to qualify as a physician assistant/nurse practitioner both professionally and legally to perform all services indicated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and licensure as described in the policy and procedure manual for utilization of physician assistants/nurse practitioners within the Geisinger System required.
Completion of an approved graduate program required.
Completion of an approved ACLS program preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
